Damascus countryside, US faith initiative discuss healing Syria’s social fabric

Damascus, June 14 (SANA)The governor ofDamascus countryside, Amer al-Sheikh, met with a delegation from the Humanitarian Faith Initiative, a program of the US-based organization MedGlobal, to discuss civil peace and strengthening social cohesion.

The meeting, attended by Damascus countryside internal security commander Brigadier General Ahmad al-Dalati, addressed the impact of the deposed regime’s policies of discrimination and division on Syria’s social fabric, along with challenges related to healing those effects and restoring trust among Syrians.

Both sides stressed the importance of enhancing dialogue, building bridges of communication between different components of society and working together to entrench values of coexistence and understanding to build a more stable and united future forSyriaand its people.

The Humanitarian Faith Initiative focuses on strengthening the role of religious leaders in supporting humanitarian efforts and promoting dialogue, coexistence and social cohesion in crisis-affected areas.
