Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi Meets the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq …… Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi met today, Sunday, with the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq, Ms. Mari Yamashita, and her accompanying delegation. At the outset of the meeting, Ms. Yamashita congratulated Prime Minister Al-Zaidi on gaining the confidence of the Council of Representatives and the formation of the new government. The meeting discussed a range of issues of mutual concern between Iraq and the United Nations, including the measures and steps being taken regarding the file of missing Kuwaiti persons. For her part, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General commended the progress achieved by the Iraqi government in the economic and security fields and reaffirmed the United Nations’ continued support for Iraq’s efforts and initiatives to promote stability and development.
