Presidente Abinader inaugura la Escuela Básica José Valentín Pérez Castro, en La Noriega
Santiago.– Giving continuity to his commitment to quality public education, President Luis Abinaderinaugurated this Saturday the José Valentín Pérez Castro Basic School, in La Noriega, Santiago, and simultaneously opened another 27 classrooms for the initial level in different parts of the province, expanding the opportunities for access to adequate educational spaces for hundreds of students.
The new educational infrastructure incorporates nine standard classrooms and one classroom for the initial level, strengthening the capacity of the educational system in the community and guaranteeing better conditions for the teaching-learning process.
During the event, the Minister of Education, Luis Miguel De Camps, highlighted that the delivery of new educational centers and the expansion of classrooms are part of a comprehensive vision aimed at strengthening Dominican education and expanding opportunities for all students.
The official affirmed that education continues to be the most powerful tool to promote the development of the country, while he valued the effort made by the Government to respond to the specific needs of each community. “Behind every school, every classroom and every educational project there are families who aspire to a better future for their children,” he expressed.
De Camps pointed out that the implementation of the 27 new initial level classrooms will allow expanding educational coverage and strengthening access to education from the earliest years.
Likewise, he reiterated that the Government maintains the conviction that development must reach each community and that education occupies a central place in that transformation.
More classrooms to strengthen initial education
The 27 classrooms inaugurated by the president correspond to the Professor Aquiles Trinidad, Norma Lucrecia Medrano, Lidia Antonia Luciano Liz, Manuel de Jesús Luciano Méndez, Gregorio Luperón, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Arturo Jiménez, Santiago Guzmán Espaillat, Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deñó, Doña Inocencia Mercedes Cabrera and Pedro Antonio Estrella educational centers.
Representing the students, Joshua de los Santos Núñez, a third grade student, expressed his joy at the inauguration of the new educational center and thanked God for allowing them to experience such a significant moment for the school community. Likewise, he valued the support of President Luis Abinader, the Minister of Education and the other authorities who made the construction of the school possible.
The student highlighted that the new campus represents an opportunity to learn and grow in a safe, modern and appropriate space for the training of boys and girls. He also thanked the teachers, administrative and support staff for their work, as well as the permanent support of parents and family members.
“Together we will fill these classrooms with dreams, respect, friendship and enthusiasm,” said Joshua, expressing his desire for the José Valentín Pérez Castro Basic School to become a space where knowledge, values and unity flourish.
The blessing of the event was carried out by the parish priest Juan Valentín Torres, of the Jesus Christ King of the Universe parish, who offered a prayer to entrust to God the new educational center and the work that will be carried out there for the benefit of the students, teachers and families of the community.
The governor of Santiago, Rosa Santos, was present; Senator Daniel Rivera; Mayor Ulises Rodríguez; the directors of School Infrastructure, Roberto Herrera; of the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa), Eduard Guzmán; the general director of the Santiago Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (Coraasan), Andrés Cueto; the deputies Soraya Suárez and Nelson Marmolejos, among other personalities.
