Daraa, June 13 (SANA)TheMinistry of Interiorannounced the arrest of Hassan Ali Qoujah and Ajwan Ahmad Karjout inDaraaProvince as part of ongoing investigations involving Raafat Anwar Al-Amoudi, who was detained earlier.

The ministry said that information and confessions obtained during the investigation indicated their involvement in violations committed against citizens during the deposed regime’s era.

In a statement, the ministry said that investigations revealed the three detainees’ involvement in military and security-related abuses in Daraa city. These included serving at the “Hamida al-Taher” checkpoint in the al-Sahari neighborhood, participating in arrest campaigns that targeted dozens of residents in the al-Kashef neighborhood, and transferring detainees to the “Red Building” (formerly the headquarters of the 15th Division).

The ministry added that they were involved in the arrest of large numbers of residents from Daraa Province while working within the ousted regime’s security agencies.

It pointed out that legal proceedings against the detainees are continuing in preparation for referring them to the competent judicial authorities.For his part, Brig. Gen. Hussam al-Tahan, Commander of Internal Security in Daraa, said the arrest of individuals affiliated with the ousted regime comes as part of ongoing security measures aimed at apprehending criminals and pursuing all those involved in acts that threaten the security and stability of the province.‏He added that the operation underscores the seriousness of the security agencies in enforcing the law and holding accountable anyone who has committed crimes or attempts to undermine the security of citizens.‏“We affirm that Daraa will not be a place for criminals or a safe haven for those responsible for violations committed during the era of the deposed regime,” al-Tahan ‏said.
