Five killed in Indian military transport plane crash
New Delhi, June 13 (SANA)Five Indian soldiers were killed after an Antonov An-32 military transport aircraft crashed while attempting to land at Jorhat Air Base in northeasternIndia, the Indian Army said on Saturday.In a statement carried by Agence France-Presse (AFP), the army expressed regret over the incident and extended its condolences to the families of the victims.Earlier on Saturday, the army announced the crash without providing details, saying only that an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the accident.In 2019, An-32 aircraft that took off from Jorhat Air Base crashed, killing all 13 passengers and crew members on board.The Indian Air Force operates around 100 twin-engine An-32 transport aircraft, which are widely used for military airlift missions.F.J./M.Z.
