Rehabilitación del puente sobre el río Barranca en ruta 23 ya alcanzó 10% de avance

The deteriorating conditions of the bridge over the Barranca River, in Espíritu Santo de Esparza, made it necessary to begin a rehabilitation intervention for this structure, since last September 18.
To date, it is estimated that progress is around 10%, after carrying out tasks such as the formation of peninsulas (which would be the area to be able to mobilize all the machinery and personnel for the execution of the activities), the casing of the piles of piles 3 and 4 has been placed, work has been done on drilling the piles, as well as assembling the reinforcement and casting them.
The scope of the work consists of replacing, reinforcing, rebuilding and widening several of the main elements of the bridge, such as the bearing slab, beams, bastions, as well as piers, supports, connections and expansion joints, among other structures.
The pass, located on National Route 23, has a length of 177.8 meters.
The authorities of the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, as well as the National Road Council, highlighted the importance of reestablishing the best possible conditions of safety and comfort on this bridge, valuing the relevance of the passage in the transit of goods, as well as for the transfer of students to educational centers and health centers, for the benefit, mainly, of the towns of Caldera and El Roble.
Likewise, they highlighted the importance of having this structure based on the tourism that is generated in the area.
They also stressed that the rehabilitation of the bridge will be used to make a series of improvements, such as the inclusion of bicycle lanes and a safe pedestrian crossing, both elements currently absent in the structure and that are vital for a coastal area where the bicycle is a widely used means of transportation.
Along these same lines, with the aim of reducing congestion, while the works are being carried out, a third lane will be added to the structure, which currently only has one lane in each direction. In this way, one lane in each direction will always be in service and that other lane would remain in permanent service, for a total of 3 and with plans to add a fourth lane, they indicated.
The works are carried out by the Construction Management of the National Road Council (CONAVI) and must be completed in 445 calendar days, counted as of September 18. ¢4.3 billion are invested in this project.
As already indicated, the bridge has a total length of 177.8 meters and a width of 10.6 meters, of which 8.95 meters correspond to the width of the rolling surface.
With the Intervention, the bridge will be 17.25 meters wide, it will have three lanes (lanes 3.6 meters wide), shoulders (1.3 to 1.8 meters wide), concrete barriers and

A la fecha, se estima que los avances rondan el 10%, tras la realización de tareas como la conformación de penínsulas (que sería el área para poder movilizar toda la maquinaria y personal para la ejecución de las actividades), se ha colocado el encamisado de los pilotes de las pilas 3 y 4, se ha trabajado en la perforación de los pilotes, así como el armado del refuerzo y colado de los mismos. El alcance de los trabajos consiste en sustituir, reforzar, reconstruir y ensanchar varios de los elementos principales del puente, como lo son la losa de rodamiento, las vigas, los bastiones, así como las pilas, los apoyos, las conexiones y las juntas de expansión, entre otras estructuras. El paso, ubicado sobre la Ruta Nacional 23, tiene una longitud de 177.8 metros. Las autoridades del Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transportes, así como del Consejo Nacional de Vialidad, destacaron la importancia de reestablecer las mejores condiciones posibles de seguridad y comodidad en este puente, valorando la relevancia del paso en el tránsito de mercancías, así como para el traslado de estudiantes a centros educativos y centros de salud, en beneficio, principalmente, de los poblados de Caldera y El Roble. De igual manera, destacaron la importancia de contar con esta estructura en función del turismo que se genera en la zona. Además recalcaron que la rehabilitación del puente será aprovechanda para hacerle una serie de mejoras, como la inclusión de ciclovías y un paso peatonal seguro, ambos elementos actualmente ausentes en la estructura y que son vitales para una zona costera donde la bicicleta es un medio de transporte muy utilizado. En esta misma línea, con el objetivo de reducir los congestionamientos, mientras se hacen las obras, se agregará un tercer carril a la estructura que, actualmente solo tiene un carril por sentido. De esta manera, siempre se tendrá en servicio un carril por sentido y ese otro carril quedaría en servicio permanente, para un total de 3 y con la prevista para agregar un cuarto carril, indicaron. Las obras se ejecutan mediante la Gerencia de Construcción del Consejo Nacional de Vialidad (CONAVI) y deberán estar finalizadas en 445 días naturales, contados a partir del pasado 18 de setiembre. En este proyecto se invierten ¢4.300 millones. Como ya se indicó, el puente tiene una longitud total de 177.8 metros y un ancho de 10.6 metros, de los cuales 8.95 metros corresponden al ancho de la superficie de rodadura. Con la Intervención, el puente pasará a 17,25 metros de ancho, se tendrá tres carriles (carriles de 3.6 metros de ancho), espaldones (1.3 a 1.8 metros de ancho), barreras de concreto y
