Kuwait,UAE condemn reported Iranian missile and drone attacks on Gulf states and Jordan

Kuwait, June 10 (SANA)Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates have condemned reported missile and drone attacks targeting Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan, describing the incidents asviolations of sovereigntyand a threat to regional security and stability.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement posted on X on Wednesday that the attacks constituted a dangerous escalation that endangered civilian lives and vital infrastructure and represented a violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty.

The ministry said such actionscontravene international lawand the United Nations Charter and undermine regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalation. It reiterated Kuwait’s right to take measures to protect its national security, territory and critical facilities in accordance with international law.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the reported attacks, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), describing them as a violation of the sovereignty of the three countries and a threat to their security and stability.

The UAE expressed solidarity withBahrain, Kuwait and Jordan and affirmed its support for measures aimed at safeguarding their security.Earlier, Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan said they had intercepted and destroyed missiles and drones launched from Iran toward their airspace, adding that no casualties were reported.

The reported attacks were described by Kuwaiti and Emirati officials as a serious escalation that could undermine efforts to reduce tensions in the region.
