Gobierno anuncia construcción de moderno hospital clínico-quirúrgico en Cotuí
Sánchez Ramírez.-The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, announced the construction of a new clinical-surgical hospital in the municipality of Cotuí, Sánchez Ramírez province, a work that seeks to significantly strengthen health coverage throughout the region.
The president explained that the work will be built on land donated by the Center for Industrial Development and Competitiveness.
“Proindustria, which has extensive land, gave us a part to build a clinical-surgical hospital with the levels of care that Cotuí and the region need,” said President Abinader during the delivery of the renovation work for the Cevicos Municipal Hospital.
The head of state also reported that the National Health Service is working on the designs of the work, which are in their final phase, so it is expected to begin both the bidding process and construction during the second half of this year.
President Abinader also pointed out that, along with the construction of the new hospital, there is the possibility of converting the current Cotuí hospital into a mother-child center, which would allow health services to be expanded and specialized in the province.
“Therefore, with that and perhaps the old Cotuí hospital converted into a maternal and child hospital, I think that Cotuí and the region would be completely covered in terms of their health,” he reiterated.
For his part, the executive director of the National Health Service (SNS), Dr. Julio Landrón, highlighted that the new infrastructure will have more than 80 inpatient beds, more than 12 intensive care beds, an emergency with more than 26 beds and a wide portfolio of medical specialties and subspecialties.
Likewise, he highlighted the support that President Luis Abinaderal has provided for strengthening the health system in Sánchez Ramírez.
"We cannot fail to thank you for your interest, effort and good will to give this province a better quality of life. We can say with great pride that it is a mission accomplished and that change has come to this province of Sánchez Ramírez," he said.
The construction of this new hospital is part of the initiatives promoted by the Government to improve hospital infrastructure and guarantee quality health services to the inhabitants of the province and surrounding areas.

El presidente Abinader señaló además que, junto con la construcción del nuevo hospital, existe la posibilidad de convertir el actual hospital de Cotuí en uncentro materno-infantil, lo que permitiríaampliar y especializar los servicios de saluden la provincia. “Por lo tanto, con ese y quizás el viejo hospital de Cotuí convertido en un materno-infantil, yo pienso que Cotuí y la región estarían totalmente cubiertos en términos de su salud”,reiteró. De su lado, el director ejecutivo del Servicio Nacional de Salud (SNS),doctor Julio Landrón, destacó que la nueva infraestructura dispondrá demás de 80 camas de internamiento,más de12 camas de cuidados intensivos, una emergencia conmás de 26 camasy una amplia cartera de especialidades y subespecialidades médicas. Asimismo, resaltó elrespaldo que ha brindado el presidente Luis Abinaderal fortalecimiento del sistema sanitario enSánchez Ramírez. “No podemos dejar de agradecer su interés, esfuerzo y buena voluntad de darle a esta provincia una mejor calidad de vida. Podemos decir con mucho orgullo que es una misión cumplida y que el cambio ha llegado a esta provincia de Sánchez Ramírez”,manifestó.
