Presidente Abinader entrega el remozado Hospital Periférico Monte Adentro Dr. Antonio Trueba, en Santiago
Santiago.-President Luis Abinader continues with firm steps prioritizing the strengthening of the Public Health Services Network, delivering this Friday the general renovation and the new Emergency area of the Periférico Monte Adentro Dr. Antonio Trueba Hospital, in Santiago.
The infrastructure, which goes from deterioration to modernity, has, inside, new and modern medical equipment that will humanize and dignify the services for the community of Monte Adentro and surrounding areas.
“From now on, in Monte Adentro there will be better health,” said the head of state, also informing that it involves the renovation of health center number 113, of the 200 second and third level care centers in the national territory.
Likewise, he reported that next September the renovated Licey al Medio Hospital could be delivered.
For his part, the executive director of the National Health Service (SNS), Julio Landrón, highlighted that this work represents a significant step in strengthening Santiago's hospital network and reaffirms the Government's commitment to the health of the population.
“Today, this hospital has everything a health center needs to safeguard lives,” the official said.
Furthermore, he added that, in the first five months of this year, the Public Health Network has provided more than 20 million services to all Dominicans and highlighted the salary increase that has been given to the health sector in these six years of Government.
Regarding the first level care centers, he said that more than 1,700 were abandoned and to date more than 1,000 have been renovated, with protection to reach all of these by 2028.
New Emergency and renovation of Dr. Antonio Trueba Hospital
During the intervention of this hospital center, a new Emergency area was built with a waiting room, registration, triage office, treatment area, nebulization room, three observation beds and a resuscitation box, strengthening the response capacity in emergency situations.
The renovated areas include an operating room, neonatal unit equipped with three cribs and two incubators, delivery room, pre-surgical and post-surgical areas, sterilization, four medical offices, laboratories, sample collection, dentistry module, vaccination area, X-rays, sonography, two nursing stations, laundry, kitchen and general service areas.
Likewise, access to the morgue was enabled, a solid waste shed, a perimeter fence, a protective grille, a septic chamber were built, a medium voltage system was installed and the existing sanitary system was retrofitted. The intervention represented a total investment of RD 103,940,212.96.
Investment in Santiago hospitals
At the event, Julio Landrón pointed out some of the work that has been carried out in the Santiago province to improve medical care, such as the investment of more than RD 287 million in equipment.
Likewise, he cited the renovation and expansion of the Emergency of the municipal hospitals of Sabana Iglesia, Villa González, Navarrete, Tamboril and José María Cabral y Báez, which also had an oncology unit built. The San José de las Matas Hospital was inaugurated and the Doña Renée Klang de Guzmán Women's Hospital was intervened. At the Arturo Rullón Children's Hospital, the pediatric intensive care unit, the breastfeeding room, among other services, were launched, also here in Santiago.

De su lado, el director ejecutivo delServicio Nacional de Salud(SNS),Julio Landrón,destacó que esta obra representa un paso significativo en elfortalecimiento de la red hospitalaria de Santiagoy reafirma el compromiso del Gobierno con la salud de la población. “Hoy, este hospital tiene todo lo que necesita un centro de salud para salvaguardar vidas”,puntualizó el funcionario. Además, agregó que, en los primeros cinco meses de este año, la Red Pública de Salud ha dadomás de 20 millones de serviciosa todos los dominicanos y destacó elaumento salarialque se ha dado al sector salud en estos seis años de Gobierno. Sobre los centros de primer nivel de atención, dijo quemás de 1,700estuvieron abandonados y a la fecha se han remozadomás de 1,000, con protección de alcanzar la totalidad de estos para 2028. Nueva Emergencia y remozamiento Hospital Dr. Antonio Trueba Durante la intervención de este centro hospitalario se construyó unanueva área de Emergenciacon sala de espera, registro, consultorio de triaje, área de curas, sala de nebulización, tres camas de observación y un box de reanimación, fortaleciendo la capacidad de respuesta ante situaciones de urgencia. Dentro de las áreas remozadas se incluyen un quirófano, unidad neonatal equipada con tres cunas y dos incubadoras, sala de parto, áreas prequirúrgica y postquirúrgica, esterilización, cuatro consultorios médicos, laboratorios, toma de muestras, módulo de odontología, área de vacunas, rayos X, sonografía, dos estaciones de enfermería, lavandería, cocina y áreas de servicios generales. Asimismo, se habilitó el acceso a la morgue, se construyó una caseta para desechos sólidos, verja perimetral, enrejado de protección, cámara séptica, se instaló un sistema de media tensión y se readecuó el sistema sanitario existente. La intervención representó una inversión total deRD 103,940,212.96. Inversión en hospitales de Santiago En el acto, Julio Landrón señaló algunos de los trabajos que se han llevado a cabo en la provincia Santiago paramejorar la atención médica, como la inversión demás de RD 287 millonesen equipamiento. Al igual, citó el remozamiento y ampliación de la Emergencia de los hospitales municipales deSabana Iglesia, Villa González, Navarrete, Tamboril y José María Cabral y Báez, a la que además se le construyó una unidad oncológica. Se inauguró el Hospital deSan José de las Matasy se intervino elHospital de la Mujer Doña Renée Klang de Guzmán. En elHospital Infantil Arturo Rullónse puso en marcha la unidad de cuidado intensivo pediátrico, la sala de lactancia materna, entre otros servicios, también aquí en Santiago.
