HE The President of the Republic, José Antonio Kast, led this Friday in the Patio Los Cañones of the Palacio de La Moneda the ceremony for the imposition of the “Service of the Presidency of the Republic” Decoration, a distinction granted to the Carabineros de Chile personnel who perform Supreme and Institutional Appointment functions in the service of the Presidency of the Republic. The decoration, conferred by virtue of Exempt Decree No. 1,141 of the Ministry of the Interior, recognizes the commitment, vocation for service and dedication of the officials who perform essential tasks for security, institutional protection and the proper functioning of the official activities that take place in the Palacio de La Moneda. "Beyond the different vicissitudes that our country has experienced, people always appeal to have a police officer nearby. They are signs of trust, they are signs of respect, they are that institution that unites all of Chile and that has kept democracy in our nation standing for so many years, beyond the difficulties we have had. It is a story of service, a story of commitment, a story of dedication. And, on behalf of all Chileans, I want to thank you for this service. Thank you to each of you who, even leaving here from La Moneda, continue to fulfill your role," said the President. Son signos de confianza, son signos de respeto, son esa institución que une a todo Chile y que ha mantenido en pie la democracia en nuestra nación por tantos años, más allá de las dificultades que hemos tenido. Es una historia de servicio, una historia de compromiso, una historia de entrega. Y, a nombre de todos los chilenos, quiero darles las gracias por este servicio.
