Within the framework of the 2024 school year, whose motto is “Read and write: the first step to transform lives”, the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) promotes a series of actions that promote reading and writing in compliance with the Education Route.
To develop reading habits, the MEP is delivering 25,894 books so that by 2025, one hundred percent of rural high schools will have these resources. This material will benefit 10,884 students.
The delivery of books is being accompanied by training workshops for Spanish teachers from all rural high schools to reinforce, in students, communication skills, reading comprehension, orality, writing to develop critical thinking, the ability to interpret texts and express ourselves appropriately.
The Minister of Education Anna Katharina Müller highlighted the importance of literacy: "Reading and writing is the basis of all other learning. When we manage to understand what we read and correctly express our ideas in writing we have greater chances of success in study, at work and in an integral way in our lives," she said.
As part of the Education Route, the launch of the book donation campaign was announced: MEI propose to donate, MEI propose to read, to provide reading material to educational centers of all levels.
The campaign invites people, companies, organizations or institutions to donate books, new or in good condition, to promote the formation of reading habits among the student population.
To make your contributions, you can go to the collection centers that will be located in the Learning Resource Centers (CRA) designated in the different regions of the country. MEP invita a todo el país a sumarse a la campaña MEPropongo donar, MEPropongo leer En el marco del curso lectivo 2024, cuyo lema es “Leer y escribir: el primer paso para transformar vidas”, el Ministerio de Educación Pública (MEP) impulsa una serie de acciones que promuevan la lectoescritura en cumplimiento de la Ruta de la Educación. Para desarrollar hábitos lectores, el MEP está entregando 25.894 libros para que en 2025 el cien por ciento de los liceos rurales cuenten con estos recursos. Este material beneficiará a 10.884 estudiantes. La entrega de libros está siendo acompañada de talleres de formación para docentes de Español de todos los liceos rurales para reforzar, en los estudiantes, la competencia de comunicación, la comprensión lectora, la oralidad, la escritura para desarrollar el pensamiento crítico, la capacidad de interpretar textos y de expresarnos adecuadamente. Como parte de la Ruta de la Educación, se anunció el lanzamiento de la campaña de donación de libros:MEPropongo donar, MEPropongo leerpara dotar de material de lectura a los centros educativos de todos los niveles. La campaña invita a las personas, empresas, organismos o instituciones a donar libros, nuevos o en buen estado, para promover la formación de hábitos lectores entre la población estudiantil. Para realizar sus aportes podrán acercarse a los centros de recolección que se ubicarán en los Centros de Recursos para el Aprendizaje (CRA) designados en las distintas regiones del país.
