Israeli occupation forces raid area in Quneitra countryside, assault civilians
Quneitra, June 10 (SANA)An Israeli occupation force composed of several military armored vehicles executed a ground incursion on Wednesday, operating west of the village of Saida al-Hanout in the southern countryside ofQuneitraprovince, where troops directly assaulted local civilians before retreating behind the occupied line.
According to SANA’s field correspondent in Quneitra, the Israeli unit engaged in acts of intimidation and property destruction, deliberately running over livestock belonging to local farmers. Israeli soldiers physically assaulted two young Syrian men, tying them up securely at the site of the incursion, before the mechanized unit withdrew across the border without executing any permanent arrests.
Earlier on Wednesday, an Israeli occupation forces comprising three military vehicles advanced along the road linking the villages of Saida al-Jolan and al-Maqraz in the southern Quneitra countryside, where it established a temporary military checkpoint, searched passersby and later withdrew from the area.
Israel continues its violations and breaches of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria, assaults against civilians, raids, arrests, land bulldozing operations and shelling attacks.
Syria has consistently called for the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from its territory and stresses that all Israeli measures in southern Syria are null and void and carry no legal effect under international law. Syria has also called on the international community to assume its responsibilities, deter the practices of the occupation and compel it to fully withdraw from southern Syrian territory.
