Foreign Ministry investigates alleged leak of documents
Damascus, June 10 (SANA)TheMinistry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriatesstressed that its specialized departments immediately began taking the necessary measures to investigate reports regarding the alleged leak of documents and correspondence attributed to the ministry.
“The ministry has also started coordinating with technical departments and security agencies to conduct a comprehensive investigation aimed at identifying the source, mechanism, and scope of the leak. Appropriate legal and judicial measures will be taken to address the incident, contain its repercussions, and hold accountable all those found involved, in line with applicable laws and regulations.” The Media and Communication Department stated Wednesday.
The department reassured that the ministry’s work, tasks, and consular and diplomatic services continue normally, affirming that all necessary steps will be taken to safeguard information security, protect official documents, and preserve the interests of the state and its institutions. The public will be kept informed of developments through official channels.
It further underlined the importance of relying on official sources for information, warning that some circulated materials may have been digitally manipulated or distorted, potentially misleading public opinion or presenting an inaccurate picture of events.
