Presidente Mulino reforzará lazos con sector marítimo mundial en Grecia
President José Raúl Mulino will arrive this Monday at the Eleftherios Venizelos Athens International Airport, where he will be received by Georgios Gerapetritis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic.
The Panamanian president will hold a high-level work agenda with different maritime sectors, including meetings with the President of the Hellenic Republic and with the Prime Minister of Greece, Konstantínos Tasoúlas and Kyriakos Mitsotakis, respectively.
The agenda includes addressing various topics, including Greek cooperation and investments in Panama in maritime and logistical matters between both countries, invitation to participate in tenders for the Panama Canal and key issues related to tourism. Likewise, the signing of a cooperation agreement in the field of tourism and foreign relations between Panama and the government of the Hellenic Republic is contemplated.
This Monday, President Mulino will attend the Opening Ceremony of the Posidonia Shipping Exhibition, to be held at the Metropolitan Expo Exhibition Center, and inaugurate the Panama Stand, which includes the participation of the Panama Canal, the Maritime Authority and the Ministry of Commerce and Industries.
Poseidonia 2026 is the event that brings together exhibitions and the most important international meetings in the maritime and shipping sector, held every two years in Athens.
Bilateral meetings between the delegations are contemplated, including a meeting with Ms. Melina Travlos, president of the Union of Greek Shipowners and members of the Union of Greek Shipowners, with whom high-level working meetings will be held. Included in this meeting are presentations by Ramón Franco, director of the Merchant Marine of the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), and the Minister for Panama Canal Affairs, José Ramón Icaza.
President Mulino will hold a meeting with Panagiotis Tsakos & Nikolas Tsakos of Tsakos Shipping and Trading S.A. Likewise, he will attend the reception offered by the ambassador and Consul of Panama in Greece, Julie Lymberópulos; space that will bring together high-ranking figures from the Greek government, Cyprus and other nations, shipowners from various countries, facilitating meetings between representatives of the Panamanian government from the public and private maritime sector, within the framework of Posidonia 2026.
This activity will contribute significantly to the strengthening of Panama as an international maritime and logistics leader, consolidating the historic ties of cooperation, friendship and collaboration with the global shipping community.
The delegation includes Maricel Cohen de Mulino, first lady of the Republic; Julie Lymberopulos Karnakis, ambassador and Consul General of Panama in Greece; Javier Martínez Acha, Minister of Foreign Affairs; José Ramón Icaza, Minister of Canal Affairs; Julio Moltó, Minister of Commerce and Industry; Gloria de León, Tourism administrator; Luis Roquebert, administrator of the Panama Maritime Authority; Salomón Shamah, general director of Tourism Promotion of Panama (PROMTUR); Alberto Vallarino, former Minister of Economy and Finance; and Alberto Alemán Zubieta, former administrator of the Panama Canal.

El presidente José Raúl Mulino llegará este lunes al Aeropuerto Internacional Eleftherios Venizelos Atenas, en donde será recibido por Georgios Gerapetritis, ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de la República Helénica.
