Edeeste recibirá este año 12 transformadores de potencia para fortalecer su infraestructura eléctrica
Santo Domingo Este.–The Eastern Electricity Distribution Company (Edeeste) reported that it will receive a total of 12 power transformers as part of a broad plan to strengthen and modernize the electrical infrastructure aimed at improving the stability and reliability of the service in its concession area.
The first phase includes the arrival, at the end of August, of nine power transformers of 50 MVA each, currently in the final phase of construction in China, with an investment of more than RD 303 million.
As part of the process prior to shipment to the Dominican Republic, in the coming days, a specialized technical commission from Edeeste will travel to China to carry out testing, validation and factory verification of the equipment.
The nine transformers will be destined for the Higüey 138 kV, Romana Buena Vista, Villa Consuelo, Boca Chica, El Brisal, La Catalina, Cruz de Isleño substations and the new Higüey 2 substation, with the objective of mitigating overload conditions faced by part of the distribution network and strengthening the operational capacity of the electrical system.
Edeeste highlighted that this important investment is part of the actions promoted by the Dominican Government to continue expanding the installed capacity of the national energy system and respond to the sustained growth of electricity demand in different areas of the country.
Likewise, the company reported that before the end of the year the arrival of three additional transformers is planned, two of 40 MVA and one of 28 MVA. This equipment will be destined for the Higüey 69 kV, Romana Pueblo and Los Minas 69 kV substations, as part of the initiatives to expand and repower the electrical infrastructure.
With the incorporation of these 12 power transformers, Edeeste will significantly increase network capacity, improve load distribution and progressively reduce operational limitations in some substations, especially during periods of high temperatures and high energy demand.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to continue executing projects aimed at modernizing the electrical system, guaranteeing sustainable solutions that allow it to offer a more efficient, stable and reliable service to thousands of customers.
