Gobierno anuncia construcción de cinco techados en Azua con inversión de RD 156 millones
Azua.– The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kelvin Cruz, announced this Wednesday the construction of five sports roofs in the same number of municipalities in the province of Azua, with a total investment of RD 156 million.
Cruz led an event held at the Provincial Government Palace to publicize the important investment that will strengthen the sports infrastructure of this district.
The initiative is part of the program promoted by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation (Miderec), with the support of President Luis Abinader, to build roofs in the 26 municipalities of the country that still lack this type of facilities.
Minister Kelvin Cruz highlighted that these works seek to reduce the social gap that has accumulated for years in terms of sports infrastructure in the province. He recalled that the salt soccer field in this city and several works at the Sabana Yegua Sports Center were recently delivered.
"The municipalities that are benefiting today are part of an effort to close a social gap that has existed for many years. We have been here delivering the indoor soccer field, the perimeter fence and other improvements to the Sabana Yegua Sports Center, in Azua," said Cruz.
Also speaking at the event were the civil and provincial governor of Azua, María Minerva Navarro; Senator Lía Díaz, and Mayor Rafael Hidalgo Fernández, who thanked the minister for the start of the construction of these five roofs.
In addition, the mayors of Las Yayas, Padre Las Casas, Tábara Arriba, Pueblo Viejo and Guayabal were present; deputies Brenda Ogando and Ángela Pérez; as well as the president of the Provincial Sports Union, Pedro Reyes.
The works include the construction of the roofs of: Las Yayas, with an investment of RD 31,678,126.96; Padre Las Casas, with a cost of RD 31,345,556.96, and Guayabal, with an investment of RD 31,478,700.89.
Also, Simón Brito, in the municipality of Tábara Arriba, budgeted in RD 31,110,226.60, and José Francisco Peña Gómez, in Pueblo Viejo, with an investment of RD 30,339,685.76.
During Kelvin Cruz's administration as head of the Ministry of Sports, the province of Azua has benefited from various sports works, including the construction of the indoor soccer field and the roofing of Sabana Yegua, the Tábara Abajo Community Sports Center and the repairs of the Estebanía and Las Charcas multipurpose facilities.

Durante la gestión de Kelvin Cruz al frente del Ministerio de Deportes, la provincia de Azua ha sido beneficiada condiversas obras deportivas, entre ellas la construcción de la cancha de fútbol sala y el techado de Sabana Yegua, el Centro Deportivo Comunitario de Tábara Abajo y las reparaciones de los multiusos de Estebanía y Las Charcas.
