Gobierno repudia actos de violencia contra jerarcas en negociación del FEES
This afternoon, the Government leaders who negotiate the Special Fund for Higher Education (FEES) with the rectors were subjected to threats, aggression and violence in the facilities of the National Council of Rectors (CONARE). The CONARE allowed these aggressors to enter its headquarters and failed to guarantee the safety of the highest officials of the Government. A timely intervention by the Public Force prevented what could have been a catastrophe. The Government repudiates these acts that were evidently known to the rectors of the universities. public universities. In view of this serious incident, it is announced that their officials will not participate in FEES negotiations in any facility controlled by public universities. There is a reasonable probability that the university authorities were aware of the danger that the leaders could face upon leaving the meeting, and - even so - they did nothing to prevent it.
