Estudiantes de Educación Técnica Profesional contarán por primera vez con una póliza durante su pasantía y práctica profesional
INS collective accident policy will apply for your internship and professional practice
For the first time in history, 42,000 students from Professional Technical Colleges (CTP), Professional Institutes of Community Education (IPEC) and Integrated Adult Education Centers (CINDEA) will carry out internships and practices protected by a collective accident policy from the National Insurance Institute (INS).
The Ministry of Public Education (MEP) acquired with the INS a policy designed specifically for students of Professional Technical Education (ETP) during their stay in the companies or institutions in which they carry out their internship or professional practice.
The Minister of Education Anna Katharina Müller Castro highlighted that in 58 years of technical education there had never been this coverage: "Internships and professional practices are experiences in which students participate in a real environment to apply and expand their knowledge and skills. These opportunities are part of the academic curriculum and are designed to provide students with a direct vision of the field in which they are training and thus learn about the culture and dynamics of the business and institutional environment."
The internship is the students' first approach to the employer sector and is an educational and training activity that consists of between 80 and 120 hours (during the eleventh year or the second level in the case of the night offer).
Students then complete their internship in their final year of study, this is a graduation requirement and consists of 320 hours.
Approximately 20,000 students in the final year of their technical degree will carry out professional practice, starting the second week of October.
Thanks to the signing of this decree today, students will have a permanent policy for internships and professional practice, as ordered by the Labor Code, starting in the 2025 school year.

Póliza colectiva de accidentes del INS aplicará para su pasantía y práctica profesional Por primera vez en la historia, 42.000 estudiantes de Colegios Técnicos Profesionales (CTP), Institutos Profesionales de Educación Comunitaria (IPEC) y Centros Integrados de Educación de Adultos (CINDEA) realizarán pasantías y prácticas protegidos por una póliza colectiva de accidentes del Instituto Nacional de Seguros (INS). El Ministerio de Educación Pública (MEP) adquirió con el INS una póliza diseñada específicamente para estudiantes de la Educación Técnica Profesional (ETP) durante su estadía en las empresas o instituciones en las que realicen su pasantía o práctica profesional. La ministra de Educación Anna Katharina Müller Castro destacó que en 58 años de educación técnica nunca se había tenido esta cobertura: “Las pasantías y las prácticas profesionales son experiencias en las que los estudiantes participan en un entorno real para aplicar y ampliar sus conocimientos y habilidades. Estas oportunidades forman parte del currículum académico y se diseñan para proporcionar a los estudiantes una visión directa del campo en el que están formándose y así aprender sobre la cultura y la dinámica del entorno empresarial e institucional”. La pasantíaes el primer acercamiento de los estudiantes con el sector empleador y es una actividad educativa y formativa que consta de entre 80 y 120 horas (durante el undécimo año o el segundo nivel en el caso de la oferta nocturna). Después los alumnos realizan supráctica profesionalen su último año de estudio, este es un requisito de graduación y consta de 320 horas. Aproximadamente 20.000 estudiantes de último año de su carrera técnica realizarán la práctica profesional, a partir de la segunda semana de octubre. Gracias a la firma de este decreto que se realiza hoy, los estudiantes contarán con una póliza permanente para la pasantía y la práctica profesional, conforme lo ordena el Código de Trabajo, a partir del curso lectivo 2025.
