Kuwait responds to airspace breach, Bahrain reports damage following drone interception

Capitals, June 11 (SANA)Kuwait’s military said on Thursday that air defense systems were engaging hostile aerial targets that had entered the country’s airspace.

In a statement posted on X, the General Staff of theKuwaitiArmed Forces said air defense units were responding to the targets in accordance with approved operational procedures.

The military urged citizens and residents to follow safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities and to rely exclusively on official sources for information.

InBahrain, the Ministry of Interior said an 11-year-old girl sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene following an Iranian attack targeting the kingdom.

In a statement posted on X, the ministry said the incident also caused damage to homes and vehicles in Hamad City and the capital, Manama, after debris fell from intercepted drones.

The ministry added that civil defense and emergency services had taken the necessary measures in response to the incident.

Earlier on Thursday, Bahraini authorities activated warning sirens and called on citizens and residents to remain calm and proceed to the nearest safe location following alerts of an aerial threat.

The developments come amid heightened tensions in the Gulf region afterU.S.Central Command announced on Wednesday that it had begun carrying out additional defensive strikes against multiple targets insideIran.
