Türkiye and Germany review bilateral ties, upcoming NATO summit in Ankara
Ankara, June 11 (SANA)Turkish Foreign MinisterHakan Fidandiscussed bilateral relations and a number of regional and international issues with hisGerman counterpart Johann Wadephulduring a phone call on Thursday.
According to sources at the Turkish Foreign Ministry, cited byAnadolu Agency, the two ministers discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and reviewed preparations for the upcomingNATO summitscheduled to be held in Ankara on July 7-8.
The talks also addressed developments in ongoing negotiations between theUnited States and Iranas part of efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire, amid differing assessments of the progress of the talks.
The discussions come amid intensified diplomatic activity ahead of the NATO summit and growing international attention to regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic efforts to contain the repercussions of the U.S.–Israeli–Iranian war and support the negotiation process between Washington and Tehran.
