Jordan, Bahrain report intercepting Iranian drone and missile attacks
Amman/Manama, June 11 (SANA)Jordan’s military said on Thursday that it intercepted and destroyed 20 missiles launched from Iran toward theAzraq area in Zarqa governorate, while Bahrain reported shooting down severalIranian missilesand drones that entered its airspace.
Jordan’s armed forcessaid air defense systems and Royal Air Force aircraft carried out the interceptions without causing casualties or material damage. A military source told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that debris from the missiles fell in several areas and was later secured by engineering teams.
The source said Jordan’s military remained on high alert and would not allow any violation of the kingdom’s airspace.
InBahrain, the General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force said air defense systems intercepted and destroyed a number of Iranian missiles and drones targeting the kingdom.
Bahrain’s military said Iran was continuing its aggression through missile and drone attacks targeting civilian areas and described the strikes as a violation of international humanitarian law, according to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA).
Bahrain’s military said all units remained at the highest level of readiness to defend the country.
Earlier on Thursday,Bahrain’s Interior Ministrysaid a child was injured and homes and vehicles were damaged in an Iranian attack on the kingdom.
The incidents come amid escalating tensions linked to the ongoingU.S.-Israeli-Iranian conflict, which has expanded beyond Iran’s borders and heightened security concerns across theGulf region.
