Informationsfreiheitsgesetz
The introduction of freedom of information means creating a new understanding of the modern state and significantly increasing the transparency of administration.
After several years of negotiations and broad involvement, the constitutional official secrecy will be lifted on September 1, 2025 and a general freedom of information will be introduced by creating a proactive publication obligation and a fundamental right to access to information.
The new freedom of information consists of 2 pillars: On the one hand, information of general interest is proactively published in the information register. On the other hand, in the future there will be a fundamental right of access to information, i.e. the possibility of requesting individual information from government authorities.
The modern state is here. Because openness and transparency are the imperative of the modern constitutional state of the 21st century.

Die Einführung der Informationsfreiheit bedeutet, ein neues Verständnis des modernen Staats zu schaffen und die Transparenz der Verwaltung wesentlich zu erhöhen. Nach mehrjährigen Verhandlungen und breiter Einbindung wird die verfassungsgesetzliche Amtsverschwiegenheit am 1. September 2025 aufgehoben und eine allgemeine Informationsfreiheit eingeführt, indem eine proaktive Veröffentlichungspflicht und ein Grundrecht auf Zugang zu Informationen geschaffen werden. Die neue Informationsfreiheit besteht aus 2 Säulen: Zum einen werden Informationen von allgemeinem Interesse proaktiv im Informationsregister veröffentlicht. Zum anderen gibt es künftig ein Grundrecht auf Zugang zu Informationen, also die Möglichkeit, einzelne Informationen bei staatlichen Stellen anzufragen. Der moderne Staat ist da.
