The rapid development of consumer markets creates both opportunities and challenges. Consumer policy must therefore be developed and resources must be directed towards maintaining balanced and clear rules that protect consumers without impairing the conditions for serious businesses, provide good opportunities for resolving disputes effectively and provide information and support to consumers. The objective of consumer policy is well-functioning consumer markets, balanced and clear rules for businesses, strong consumer protection and sustainable consumption.
