Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi Chairs the 5th Regular Session of the Council of Ministers ………. Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi chaired, on Tuesday, the 5th regular session of the Council of Ministers, during which the general situation in the country was reviewed, agenda items were discussed, and the necessary decisions and recommendations were adopted. The Council of Ministers approved the continuation of depositing revenues generated from petroleum product exports into the Ministry of Finance account designated for this purpose. With regard to traffic management, the Council of Ministers reaffirmed the need for the relevant authorities to implement Council of Ministers Resolution No. (24213 of 2024) concerning measures to address traffic congestion. The Council also directed the Director General of Traffic, or his authorized representative, to enforce Statement No. (5) of 2024 issued by the Traffic Directorate, while emphasizing coordination among the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, the Ministry of Transport, and the Baghdad Operations Command to implement the provisions outlined in the Ministry of Interior’s letter dated May 2, 2026. On the legal front, the Council of Ministers approved the bill for First Amendment to the Competition and Anti-Monopoly Law No. (14) of 2010 and referred it to the Council of Representatives for consideration. As part of efforts to regulate and strengthen Iraq’s external relations, the Council approved the bill for ratifying an agreement with the Kingdom of Spain on cooperation in the fields of security and combating crime. •••••• Media Office of the Prime Minister June 9, 2026
