Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi received today, Wednesday, the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Younis Mahmoud. The meeting reviewed the preparations of Iraq’s national team for its participation in the FIFA World Cup and the requirements of the upcoming phase to ensure the best possible technical and administrative conditions for the team. The discussions also addressed the current state of Iraqi football and ways to support and develop it. The Prime Minister affirmed the government’s commitment to supporting Iraqi sports and providing all necessary resources to ensure a successful participation in the World Cup. He noted that Iraq’s qualification for the FIFA World Cup represents an important national achievement that reflects the aspirations of the Iraqi people and requires the concerted efforts of all parties to deliver a performance worthy of Iraq’s name and standing.
