I then led the Malaysian delegation in a meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi and members of the Japanese administration in Kantei, as the highlight of my official visit to Japan which ended today. My arrival at Kantei was greeted by PM Takaichi before being given a guard of honor, accompanied by the national anthems of Malaysia and Japan. This official visit is an important moment in strengthening the special Malaysia-Japan relationship that has been established since diplomatic relations between the two countries began in 1957. Since then, Malaysia and Japan have continued to grow as close friends and mutually trusted strategic partners. In an increasingly challenging and uncertain world environment, this close relationship has become increasingly important because both countries share an interest in strengthening energy security, economic resilience, technological development and regional stability. Saya kemudiannya mengetuai delegasi Malaysia dalam pertemuan dengan Perdana Menteri Jepun, Sanae Takaichi dan anggota pentadbiran Jepun di Kantei, sebagai acara kemuncak lawatan rasmi saya ke Jepun yang berakhir hari ini. Ketibaan saya di Kantei disambut PM Takaichi sebelum diberikan kawalan kehormatan, diiringi lagu kebangsaan Malaysia dan Jepun. Lawatan rasmi ini merupakan detik penting dalam memperkukuh hubungan istimewa Malaysia-Jepun yang terjalin sejak hubungan diplomatik kedua-dua negara bermula pada tahun 1957. Sejak itu, Malaysia dan Jepun terus berkembang sebagai sahabat rapat serta rakan strategik yang saling dipercayai. Dalam suasana dunia yang semakin mencabar dan tidak menentu, hubungan erat ini menjadi semakin penting kerana kedua-dua negara berkongsi kepentingan dalam memperkukuh keterjaminan tenaga, daya tahan ekonomi, pembangunan teknologi serta kestabilan serantau.
