Ending this official visit with a press conference with PM Takaichi after a bilateral meeting that took place in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual trust that has long been the basis of Malaysia-Japan relations. Japan is one of Malaysia's important friends in our country's development journey. The support of the Japanese government and industry since the 1970s has helped accelerate Malaysia's industrialization process. Today, that cooperation continues to expand into new areas that will shape the future of the world economy. Alhamdulillah, this meeting resulted in some important progress in efforts to strengthen the Malaysia-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Relationship, including: π Strengthen maritime security cooperation through Official Security Assistance (OSA). π€ Expanding AI, semiconductor and digital technology collaboration to support future industrial development. β‘ Signed a long-term LNG supply agreement between PETRONAS and JERA for 20 years starting in 2028. π Develop cooperation in critical minerals, advanced manufacturing and more resilient supply chains. π΄ Strengthening financial cooperation including expanding the use of Ringgit and Yen in trade and investment. π€ Continuing the implementation of the four Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) signed between the two countries. We also exchanged views on various regional and international issues including developments in Myanmar, West Asia and the Indo-Pacific region. Malaysia and Japan share the belief that peace, stability and prosperity can only be strengthened through close cooperation and mutual respect. God willing, this relationship built on friendship, trust and strategic partnership will continue to open up new opportunities for the benefit of the people of both countries. ===== I concluded my official visit to Japan today with a joint press conference alongside PM Takaichi following our productive bilateral meeting.
