The National Economic Action Council (MTEN) meeting today examined the presentation from the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) regarding the El Niño phenomenon and its implications for the country. The meeting agreed that METMalaysia should immediately intensify information efforts and go to all states to deliver comprehensive briefings and enlightenment, in addition to grassroots preparedness must be strengthened because preventive measures and early preparation are the best defenses in facing the effects of extreme weather that is becoming more and more uncertain. During the presentation from Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation on the direction of the country's oil and gas service and equipment company (OGSE), the Government is of the view that business affairs and industrial development should be driven by the efficiency, agility and wisdom of the industry players themselves, with the Government continuing to provide clear policies that are conducive and support growth. In the face of world economic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions and various increasingly challenging global crises, the MADANI Government will continue to strive with wisdom and foresight so that the interests of the majority of the people are always safeguarded, as well as the national economy remains sustainable, resilient and robust in the face of any future challenges. #MalaysiaMADANI #MADANIWorking #YakinMADANI

Mesyuarat Majlis Tindakan Ekonomi Negara (MTEN) hari ini meneliti pembentangan daripada Jabatan Meteorologi Malaysia (METMalaysia) berhubung fenomena El Niño serta implikasinya terhadap negara. Mesyuarat bersetuju agar METMalaysia segera memperhebat usaha penerangan dan turun ke semua negeri bagi menyampaikan taklimat serta pencerahan yang menyeluruh selain kesiapsiagaan di peringkat akar umbi mesti diperkukuh kerana langkah pencegahan dan persediaan awal adalah benteng terbaik dalam mendepani kesan cuaca ekstrem yang semakin tidak menentu. Sewaktu pembentangan daripada Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation mengenai hala tuju syarikat perkhidmatan dan peralatan minyak serta gas (OGSE) negara, Kerajaan berpandangan bahawa urusan perniagaan serta pengembangan industri wajar dipacu oleh kecekapan, ketangkasan dan kebijaksanaan para penggiat industri sendiri, dengan Kerajaan terus menyediakan dasar yang jelas, kondusif dan menyokong pertumbuhan.
