S.E. el Presidente de la República, José Antonio Kast, encabezó este jueves en la Municipalidad de Independencia la firma del proyecto de ley de Responsabilidad Parental, iniciativa que busca hacer exigible el deber de cuidado de madres, padres y cuidadores en la formación, orientación y supervisión de niños y adolescentes, estableciendo mecanismos efectivos para promover una crianza responsable y prevenir situaciones de riesgo.El proyecto pone especial énfasis en la prevención e intervención temprana, entregando a los tribunales de familia nuevas herramientas para reforzar las competencias parentales, apoyar a las familias antes de que los problemas se agraven y sancionar a quienes incumplan gravemente sus obligaciones básicas en esta materia.En la actividad, el Mandatario señaló que la intención es "que los papás vuelvan a sintonizar con el día a día de sus hijos. Que es difícil y queremos hablar de eso, que es más profundo, el significado de lo que es cuidar un hijo. Porque a veces nos vamos por la parte más fácil. Hagámonos cargo de nuestros hijos. Antes que cualquier institución, los padres y muchas veces los abuelos son los que guían los primeros pasos de un niño. Hay veces que los padres, por distintas razones, no están: por trabajo, por situaciones distintas, y son los abuelos los que tienen que hacerse cargo. Hay veces ahí que el abuelo malcría un poquitito. Entonces, también tenemos que decirles a los abuelos que la tarea continúa y que uno no solamente tiene que regalonear al nieto, sino que también tiene que guiarlo y ayudarlo a caminar por la vida".Entre las medidas contempladas se incluyen programas de habilidades parentales, procesos de revinculación familiar, atención psicológica o psiquiátrica y, cuando corresponda, sanciones proporcionales frente al incumplimiento persistente de los deberes parentales.Asimismo, la iniciativa crea un procedimiento especial y más expedito para que los tribunales de familia puedan actuar con rapidez ante situaciones de riesgo, facilita la reparación de las víctimas mediante mecanismos que agilizan las indemnizaciones por daños causados por menores de edad y fortalece una cultura de corresponsabilidad familiar, siempre resguardando el interés superior de niños y adolescentes.La ceremonia contó con la participación del ministro de Justicia y Derechos Humanos, Fernando Rabat; el alcalde de Independencia, Agustín Iglesias; parlamentarios del distrito y vecinos de la comuna.
