Almir de Brum fue liberado tras operativo coordinado de las fuerzas de seguridad del Estado
The news was announced by the Minister of National Defense, General Óscar González, who highlighted that the release was possible thanks to the sustained and coordinated work of all State security institutions deployed since the beginning of the kidnapping.
“Almir is free and is enjoying his family,” said the minister, highlighting that the news generates deep satisfaction for the Government of Paraguay and represents a reason for joy from a human point of view for all those who closely accompanied this difficult process.
Joint work of security forces
General González emphasized that from the first day of the kidnapping, a joint operation was deployed that involved the Armed Forces of the Nation, the National Police and the National Anti-Drug Secretariat (SENAD), through permanent search and intelligence actions.
Likewise, he explained that the pressure exerted by the security forces significantly limited the criminal group's ability to move within the area where Almir was being held, a result of the constant operational work carried out for more than three months.
Permanent monitoring of President Peña
The Minister of Defense highlighted the constant support of the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, in his capacity as Commander in Chief of the Nation's Armed Forces and president of the National Defense Council (CODENA).
The president carried out permanent monitoring of the search tasks and ordered that all the operational and intelligence resources of the State be at the service of the actions aimed at achieving Almir's release.
The authorities reported that the details of the procedure will be communicated in a timely manner by the Public Ministry, once the corresponding procedures have been concluded, taking into account that the operations continue to be developed.

El mandatario realizó un seguimiento permanente de las tareas de búsqueda y dispuso que todos los recursos operativos y de inteligencia del Estado estuvieran al servicio de las acciones orientadas a lograr la liberación de Almir. Las autoridades informaron que los detalles del procedimiento serán comunicados oportunamente por el Ministerio Público, una vez concluidas las diligencias correspondientes, atendiendo que las operaciones continúan en desarrollo.
