Ministro Orillac entrega 600 apartamentos y 37 títulos de propiedad en Colón
The National Government, under the leadership of President José Raúl Mulino and through Miviot, delivered this Thursday 600 new housing solutions in the second stage of the Altos de Los Lagos urban development project, in the province of Colón. With this work, the lives of hundreds of families who for years lived in overcrowded shelters and mansions are transformed.
Likewise, the National Land Administration Authority (ANATI) delivered 37 property titles in Colón, for the benefit of more than 150 people.
The event, which took place at the Colón Art and Culture Center, was led by the Minister of the Presidency, Juan Carlos Orillac, together with the Minister of Housing, Jaime Jované, and the general administrator of ANATI, Andrés Pagés.
The delivery in Altos de Los Lagos consists of 20 towers of ground-floor, four-level buildings, with 30 apartments each (two and three bedrooms). This infrastructure will positively impact the quality of life of approximately 3,000 residents of Colon.
Minister Orillac celebrated this great achievement for families, pointing out that this effort "reflects the will to work for a more inclusive country, where more Panamanians can access a safe home, with basic services and spaces that favor coexistence and family growth."
María Rivera Sanjur's family is one of those favored with this housing benefit, because it was caught in overcrowding in the home of a relative in the El Valle sector, Cativá district, Colón district, where it could not fully develop.
The beneficiary, 38 years old, will share her new home with her daughter Milagros Campbell (15 years old), who has a diagnosis of childhood cerebral palsy and is a wheelchair user. The teenager receives specialized care in Pediatric Neurology at the Children's Hospital and has official certification from the National Disability Secretariat (Senadis).
Another family benefiting from an apartment is the one made up of older adults Saida Richardson (69 years old), her husband Jorge Cuadra (71) and their son Lorenzo (48 years old), who were caught living in a place with difficult access in the community of San Martín in Cativá.
Richardson has a physical disability that limits her mobility, due to a double supracondylar amputation, which is why she is a wheelchair user. Likewise, he has a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus, which is why he requires an accessible environment adapted to his needs.
Altos de Los Lagos (II stage) is located on a 30-hectare plot of land, with a total of 1,620 apartments distributed in 54 towers and a total public investment of B/.179,238,980.

La entrega en Altos de Los Lagos consta de 20 torres de edificios de planta baja y cuatro niveles, con 30 apartamentos cada una (de dos y tres recámaras). Esta infraestructura impactará de forma positiva la calidad de vida de aproximadamente 3 mil colonenses. El ministro Orillac celebró este gran logro para las familias, señalando que este esfuerzo "refleja la voluntad de trabajar por un país más inclusivo, donde más panameños puedan acceder a un hogar seguro, con servicios básicos y espacios que favorezcan la convivencia y el crecimiento familiar". La familia de María Rivera Sanjur es una de las favorecidas con este beneficio habitacional, debido a que fue captada en hacinamiento agregada en la vivienda de un pariente en el sector de El Valle, corregimiento de Cativá, distrito de Colón, donde no podía desarrollarse plenamente. La beneficiaria, de 38 años, compartirá su nuevo hogar con su hija Milagros Campbell (15 años), quien tiene un diagnóstico de parálisis cerebral infantil y es usuaria silla de ruedas. La adolescente recibe atención especializada en Neurología Pediátrica en el Hospital del Niño y cuenta con certificación oficial de la Secretaría Nacional de Discapacidad (Senadis). Otra familia beneficiada con apartamento es la integrada por los adultos mayores Saida Richardson (69 años), su esposo Jorge Cuadra (71) y su hijo Lorenzo (48 años), quienes fueron captados viviendo en un sitio de acceso complicado en la comunidad de San Martín en Cativá. Richardson presenta una discapacidad física que limita su movilidad, debido a una doble amputación supracondílea, por lo que es usuaria de silla de ruedas. Asimismo, maneja un diagnóstico de diabetes mellitus tipo 2, por lo que requiere un entorno accesible y adaptado a sus necesidades. Altos de Los Lagos (II etapa) se ubica en un globo de terreno de 30 hectáreas, con un total de 1,620 apartamentos distribuidos en 54 torres y una inversión pública total de B/.179,238,980.
