Cevicos, Sánchez Ramírez.–President Luis Abinader, together with the executive director of the National Health Service (SNS), Julio Landrón, delivered this Thursday the completely renovated Cevicos Municipal Hospital and the expansion of the Emergency area, as part of the efforts promoted by the Government to strengthen the Public Health Network and guarantee quality medical services to the population.
The renovated health center has offices for general medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, psychology and dentistry; in addition to a laboratory, sonography, In addition, the new Emergency room is equipped with a waiting and registration area, triage office, emergency office, treatment area, nebulization room, observation, resuscitation box and nursing station, which will allow a faster and more efficient response to any emergency situation.
The general intervention of the hospital was carried out with a total investment of RD 78,645,425.
During the event, President Abinader highlighted that the delivery of the Cevicos Municipal Hospital is part of the process of strengthening the national hospital network driven by his management, pointing out that this center constitutes the 111th hospital delivered among new constructions and renovations carried out throughout the country. “That is paying attention to health,” said the president, highlighting that the Government has significantly increased investment in health and assured that the works being carried out in Sánchez Ramírez will continue to transform medical care in the province.
Likewise, he announced the construction of a new clinical-surgical hospital in Cotuí, after the transfer of a portion of land by Proindustria for the development of the work. “The designs are almost ready and we hope that in this second semester we can start the bidding and also the construction.”
President Abinader explained that, along with the construction of this new center and the possibility of converting the old Cotuí hospital into a maternal and child hospital, the province and the entire region would have the health coverage that its inhabitants require.
The head of state highlighted Sánchez Ramírez's progress in higher education with the presence of two top-level universities, Uteco and the extension of the UASD built during his administration, as well as the economic dynamism of the province driven by its productive activities. At the event, President Abinader also delivered financial support for municipal works to Mayor Fantino and pineapple producers in the province.
