Ministro de Turismo deja iniciada obra en La Romana para impulsar el turismo en Caleta
Caleta, La Romana.- The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, started this Thursday the reconstruction work of the access road to Caleta beach, with an investment of RD 264,000,000, which will have a significant impact on the development of tourism in the area.
The project consists of the reconstruction of an 8.85 kilometer access road, a work that the residents of that municipal district of La Romana have been demanding for years.
This intervention is intended to improve connectivity in a safe and comfortable manner from the Eastern Highway to the Caleta municipal district, providing a quick access route for those seeking to enjoy the Caleta boardwalk.
Minister Collado described the impact that this work will have for the residents of Caleta and the tourists who visit it.
“This work, which was an old demand of the community, will guarantee that more tourists visit it, which will have an impact on the economy of its people,” said the official.
The intervention is divided into two road sections, which are the reconstruction of 7.7 kilometers of road section, currently on dirt roads, and second, the milling and subsequent paving of an existing road section of 1.12 kilometers.
The renovation of this access road is part of the strategic interventions carried out by Mitur, through Ceiztur, in Caleta, while bringing competitiveness to a tourist destination with extraordinary potential, directly boosting the local economy, opening new sources of employment and tourism growth in the area.
Under Minister Collado's management, the comprehensive transformation in this coastal area of Caleta in La Romana has included the inauguration of a tourist pier, a new boardwalk, a commercial boulevard and a reorganization of fishermen to promote the economic and maritime development of the area.

La intervención está dividida en dos tramos viales, que son la reconstrucción de 7.7 kilómetrosde tramo vial, actualmente en terracería, y segundo, el fresado y posterior asfaltado de un tramo vial existente de1.12 kilómetros.
