SNS designará más médicos, enfermeras y personal en Centros de Primer Nivel y Centros Diagnósticos para ampliar horario de servicio
Santo Domingo.– With the purpose of designating the necessary personnel to strengthen the care that patients receive, the National Health Service (SNS), in coordination with the Regional Directorates, carries out a nationwide survey to identify the human resource needs in the First Level Centers (CPN) and Clinical and Diagnostic Centers of the Public Network.
The strategy is aimed at increasing the response capacity of these establishments and contributing to decongesting second and third level hospitals, bringing health services closer to the communities.
The executive director of the SNS, Dr. Julio Landrón, explained that the process will allow prioritizing the appointment of doctors, nurses, bioanalysts, dentists and other health professionals in the centers that present the greatest needs, which will strengthen the provision of services, including coverage on weekends and other required shifts, always respecting the working hours and the rights of health personnel.
"We want the population to find a response to their needs in the establishment that corresponds to them, reserving the most complex hospitals for patients who really require specialized care. That is the way to achieve a more efficient Public Network with better response capacity," said Landrón.
The incorporation of personnel will be carried out progressively, in accordance with the needs identified during the survey that is taking place throughout the national territory.
Since his arrival at the SNS, Dr. Julio Landrón has established as one of the main axes of his management the strengthening of Primary Care as a gateway to the health system, promoting a closer, more accessible Public Network with greater capacity for resolution.

La estrategia está orientada aincrementar la capacidad de respuestade estos establecimientos y contribuir a descongestionar los hospitales de segundo y tercer nivel, acercando los servicios de salud a las comunidades. El director ejecutivo del SNS,doctor Julio Landrón, explicó que el proceso permitirá priorizar la designación de médicos, enfermeras, bioanalistas, odontólogos y otros profesionales de la salud en los centros que presentenmayores necesidades, lo que permitirá fortalecer la prestación de servicios, incluyendo la cobertura en fines de semana y otros turnos requeridos, siempre respetando la jornada laboral y losderechos del personal de salud. “Queremos que la población encuentre respuesta a sus necesidades en el establecimiento que le corresponde, reservando los hospitales de mayor complejidad para los pacientes que realmente requieren atención especializada. Ese es el camino para lograr una Red Pública más eficiente y con mejor capacidad de respuesta”,expresó Landrón. La incorporación del personal se realizaráde manera progresiva, de acuerdo con las necesidades identificadas durante el levantamiento que se desarrolla en todo el territorio nacional. Desde su llegada al SNS, el doctor Julio Landrón ha establecido como uno de los ejes principales de su gestión elfortalecimiento de la Atención Primariacomo puerta de entrada al sistema sanitario, promoviendo una Red Públicamás cercana, accesible y con mayor capacidad resolutiva.
