Presidente Abinader inaugura techado escolar en Cotuí para beneficiar a más de 900 estudiantes
Cotuí, Sánchez Ramírez.- As part of his commitment to strengthening the education and well-being of Dominican youth, President Luis Abinader inaugurated this Thursday the roof of the Francisco Henríquez y Carvajal School, a work that will open new opportunities for more than 900 students by providing a safe and adequate space for sports, recreation, culture and healthy coexistence.
The new infrastructure will allow sports, cultural, recreational and community activities to be carried out throughout the year, offering an adequate and safe space for the educational community and residents of the sector. The work was executed by the School Infrastructure Directorate (DIE), directed by engineer Roberto Herrera.
During the event, the Vice Minister of Teacher Accreditation and Certification of the Ministry of Education, Francisco D' Oleo, representing Minister Luis Miguel De Camps, expressed his satisfaction at delivering this multipurpose space to the entire student community of Cotuí and highlighted that the work is part of President Luis Abinader's vision of providing the provinces with facilities that contribute to the comprehensive development of students.
“Here all the students win and the community wins, due to the firm decision of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, to provide all the provinces of the country with these spaces that will contribute to the development of the professional, sports and artistic skills of you, high school students and upcoming professionals in the country,” he stated.
Likewise, he pointed out that the delivery of these spaces responds to an educational policy aimed at the comprehensive training of young people and the strengthening of the capacities that the country demands. "Today, for this province, the President of the Republic delivers two worthy spaces that, if we multiply them by many more, we can say that throughout the country the educational policy that the President of the Republic has focused and directed tends precisely to the development of this comprehensive training; a training that will make you professionals at the service of the country," he expressed.
D'Oleo Ramírez also stated that, "without fear of being wrong, we can say that Luis Abinader is the president of the Dominican Republic who has provided the most works of this nature to the country's educational centers," which represents an opportunity for students to develop their talents and abilities in appropriate spaces.
“Receive this space to develop these skills with the firm conviction that the educational policy that the President of the Republic has been developing throughout his presidential term tends precisely to ensure that you are honest professionals, professionals with the capabilities that the country requires for its future development,” he emphasized.
Finally, he maintained that the educational policy implemented by President Abinader, in addition to the development of learning, tends to strengthen comprehensive training to make students worthy professionals who will honor the country. “President Luis Abinader, with these contributions he makes in favor of students, dignifies the essence of what the country and Dominicanness are.”

On behalf of the students, the student Yismeilin Amanda Romero, from the sixth year of secondary school, spoke, expressing that this indoor is the beginning of a new and brilliant stage. "Mr. President Luis Abinader, it is an immense honor to have you here today, in our house. Today our hearts are filled with joy and gratitude when we look up and see this beautiful indoor finished. Only those of us who are here day after day know how much we longed for this. Before, the hot sun of our Cotuí or the rain dictated whether "We could play sports or meet together. Today they give us a decent, modern and safe space and it is demonstrated with actions, and not just with words, that Dominican education is advancing with firm steps and that young people truly care."
President Luis Abinader was accompanied by the president of the Senate and senator of the Sánchez Ramírez province, Ricardo de los Santos; the provincial governor, Cristina Rodríguez; the mayor of Cevicos, Edward Contreras; the regional director of Education, Virginia Suriel, and Yadira Henríquez, among other personalities.

Durante el acto, el viceministro de Acreditación y Certificación Docente del Ministerio de Educación,Francisco D’ Oleo,en representación del ministro LuisMiguel De Camps, expresó su satisfacción por entregar este espacio multiuso a toda la comunidad estudiantil de Cotuí y destacó que la obra forma parte de lavisión del presidente Luis Abinaderde dotar a las provincias de instalaciones que contribuyan aldesarrollo integral de los estudiantes. “Aquí ganan todos los estudiantes y gana la comunidad, por la firme decisión del señor presidente de la República, Luis Abinader, de dotar a todas las provincias del país de estos espacios que contribuirán al desarrollo de las competencias profesionales, deportivas y artísticas de ustedes, estudiantes de secundaria y próximos profesionales del país”,manifestó. Asimismo, señaló que la entrega de estos espacios responde a una política educativa orientada a laformación integral de los jóvenesy al fortalecimiento de las capacidades que demanda el país.“Hoy, para esta provincia, el señor presidente de la República entrega dos dignos espacios que, si los multiplicamos por muchos más, podemos decir que en todo el país la política educativa que ha centrado y dirigido el presidente de la República tiende precisamente al desarrollo de esa formación integral; una formación que hará de ustedes profesionales al servicio de la patria”,expresó.
