Productores valoran eliminación de cargas tributarias para el agro dominicano
Santo Domingo.-The National Confederation of Agricultural Producers (Confenagro) positively valued the measures announced by the Government to promote economic growth and mitigate the impact of the international crisis.
The entity considered that the approach of protecting economic and social stability, while preserving the country's productive capacities, constitutes a favorable signal for the sectors that generate jobs, investment and food sovereignty.
Confenaggro highlighted the decision to grant the status of law to the elimination of advances and the Asset Tax for the agricultural sector, a proposal that they have been promoting for more than a decade. In the opinion of the organization, this measure provides greater legal security and stability to producers, reduces financial burdens and allows more resources to be allocated to investment, modernization and increased national production.
The organization also valued the expansion of the Simplified Tax Regime from RD 12 million to RD 15 million for individuals and agricultural producers, as well as the maintenance of essential goods benefiting from a zero ITBIS rate. These provisions contribute to facilitating formalization, improving the business climate and strengthening the competitiveness of the country's small and medium producers.
Confenagro reported that its technical teams will be attentive to the detailed analysis of the formal proposal once it is submitted to the National Congress, with the objective of evaluating its scope and impact on the agricultural sector and presenting the observations that it considers pertinent during the legislative process.
Likewise, he reiterated the importance of continuing to promote policies that strengthen agricultural financing, rural infrastructure, technological innovation and the reduction of production costs, fundamental elements to guarantee food security and the sustainable development of the Dominican countryside.
