Subventions sportives 2026 : Le Gouvernement renforce son soutien au secteur sportif avec une enveloppe record de 3,47 milliards FCFA
The Government of Benin, through the Ministry of Sports and Civic Engagement, proceeded on Tuesday June 2, 2026 in Cotonou, to the official delivery of subsidies to sports federations and clubs for the year 2026. Chaired by Minister Benoît DATO, the ceremony brought together the main actors of the national sports movement. This award ceremony marks a new stage in the implementation of the national sports development policy. It concretely reflects the State's commitment to supporting stakeholders in the sports movement within a modern governance framework, based on performance, transparency and responsibility. Like the 2025 financial year, the allocation of subsidies is now based on a rigorous, structured and fair evaluation mechanism. The sports federations and clubs were assessed on the basis of objective criteria taking into account their organizational, technical and sporting performances. In total, 41 sports federations and 161 sports clubs were evaluated as part of this process. In a participatory and inclusive approach, each of them presented and defended their file at a contradictory evaluation phase before the technical committee specially set up for this purpose, thus guaranteeing fairness and transparency in the allocation of public resources. For the year 2026, the Beninese State is mobilizing a total envelope of three billion, four hundred and seventy-seven million, six hundred and twenty-one thousand, six hundred and ninety-four (3,477,621 694) CFA francs for the benefit of sports federations and clubs. To this amount are added the resources allocated to organizations and other structures supporting the national sports movement. On this occasion, the Minister of Sports and Civic Engagement recalled that the current dynamic of sports development in Benin imposes new reflexes on all stakeholders. Public subsidies no longer constitute only financial support; they also become a lever for improving performance, professionalizing sports structures and strengthening governance. “Our action is part of a clear vision: Making Benin a sporting and radiant nation,” he underlined. This ambition requires strategic choices and courageous reforms. It is in this dynamic that the State intends to end the financing of D3 football as it is organized today, in order to redirect resources towards more structuring programs, in particular the establishment of a national U17 championship. This new orientation aims to strengthen grassroots training, detect talents and sustainably build tomorrow's sporting elite. Through this reform of the subsidy system, the Government reaffirms its desire to make sport a real engine of development, social inclusion and national influence.

Les fédérations et clubs sportifs ont été appréciés sur la base de critères objectifs prenant en compte leurs performances organisationnelles, techniques et sportives.Au total, 41 fédérations sportives et 161 clubs sportifs ont été évalués dans le cadre de ce processus. Dans une démarche participative et inclusive, chacun d’eux a présenté et défendu son dossier à une phase d’évaluation contradictoire devant le comité technique spécialement mis en place à cet effet, garantissant ainsi l’équité et la transparence dans l’allocation des ressources publiques.Pour l’année 2026, l’État béninois mobilise une enveloppe globale de trois milliards quatre cent soixante-dix-sept millions six cent vingt-et-un mille six cent quatre-vingt-quatorze (3 477 621 694) francs CFA au profit des fédérations et clubs sportifs. À ce montant s’ajoutent les ressources allouées aux organisations et autres structures d’appui au mouvement sportif national.À cette occasion, le Ministre des Sports et de l’Engagement Civique a rappelé que la dynamique actuelle de développement du sport au Bénin impose de nouveaux réflexes à l’ensemble des acteurs. Les subventions publiques ne constituent plus seulement un appui financier ; elles deviennent également un levier d’amélioration des performances, de professionnalisation des structures sportives et de renforcement de la gouvernance. « Notre action s’inscrit dans une vision claire : Faire du Bénin une Nation sportive et rayonnante », a-t-il souligné.Cette ambition exige des choix stratégiques et des réformes courageuses. C’est dans cette dynamique que l’État entend mettre fin au financement de la D3 de football telle qu’elle est organisée aujourd’hui, afin de réorienter les ressources vers des programmes plus structurants, notamment la mise en place d’un championnat national U17. Cette nouvelle orientation vise à renforcer la formation à la base, détecter les talents et construire durablement l’élite sportive de demain.À travers cette réforme du système de subvention, le Gouvernement réaffirme sa volonté de faire du sport un véritable moteur de développement, d’inclusion sociale et de rayonnement national.
