Syrian–Qatari talks on emergency management and capacity building
Doha , June 11 (SANA)Syria’sMinister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed al-Saleh, discussed on Thursday withMinister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security ForceSheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani ways of enhancing cooperation and coordination between the two countries in the fields of emergency response, disaster management, capacity building, and training.
During the meeting, held in the Qatari capital of Doha, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and the existing partnership betweenSyriaandQatar, as well as mechanisms to strengthen cooperation in emergency and disaster management, capacity building, and specialized training.The discussions aimed at supporting efforts to develop response and preparedness systems in a manner that serves the shared interests of both nations.
The meeting came at the conclusion of the joint trilateral urbansearch and rescueexercise.
The exercise, organized by Qatar’s Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), is a field based humanitarian training designed to simulate realistic disaster scenarios aiming to enhance operational readiness, exchange technical expertise, and strengthen international coordination in saving lives within urban areas and residential buildings.
