Appointment of the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Mental Health Care Agency

The Office of the President has today announced the appointment of Mrs Jane Larue as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Mental Health Care Agency.

Mrs Larue holds a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Geography from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom. Her academic background is complemented by specialised training in development policy, leadership, gender, population studies, transport policy, and performance management.

Mrs Larue brings over two decades of experience in public policy development, research, strategic planning, and social development. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated strong leadership in policy formulation, programme coordination, research management, and stakeholder engagement across several key sectors in Seychelles.

Her professional experience also includes serving as Director for Policy Planning and Development at the Land Transport Department, where she spearheaded policy development and strategic planning for the transport sector, alongside previous leadership and research positions within government institutions and consultancy work.

Prior to this appointment, Ms Larue served as Director General for Research and Policy Planning at the Family and Equality Department, where she led the gender, population, research, and policy planning portfolio.

Her appointment takes effect 1st June 2026.
