Appointment of the Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Science, Technology and Innovation

The Office of the President has today announced the appointment of Ms Lindy Leon as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Science, Technology and Innovation.

Ms Leon is a professional with experience in healthcare leadership, strategic management, clinical governance, policy development, and organisational transformation. Over the course of her career, she has held a range of senior positions in both Seychelles and New Zealand, leading multidisciplinary teams, driving quality improvement initiatives, and contributing to the development and implementation of national health strategies and programmes.

She holds a Commonwealth Executive Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Seychelles, a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Auckland, a Master’s Certificate in Medicines Use in Paediatrics and Neonates from Liverpool John Moores University, and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Otago. Her academic achievements reflect a strong commitment to professional excellence, leadership, and lifelong learning.

Ms Leon brings to NISTI a wealth of expertise in strategic planning, governance, innovation, stakeholder engagement, and evidence-based decision-making. Her appointment will strengthen the Institute’s efforts to advance science, technology, research, and innovation in support of Seychelles’ sustainable development goals and national priorities.

Her appointment takes effect 1st June 2026
