DECRET N° 100/081 DU 11 JUIN 2026 PORTANT NOMINATION DE CERTAINS CONSEILLERS AU BUREAU D’ETUDES STRATEGIQUES ET DE DEVELOPPEMENT A LA PRESIDENCE DE LA REPUBLIQUE
The President of the Republic of Burundi and President of the African Union His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye received in audience the Special Envoy of the European Union for the Great Lakes region, Ambassador Johen Borgstem. During their discussions, the two personalities addressed issues related to peace and security in Africa in general, and particularly in the Great Lakes region.
They also praised the quality of the cooperative relations that exist between the European Union and Burundi. Both parties reaffirmed their common desire to further strengthen this partnership and explore new opportunities for collaboration in various areas of mutual interest. Finally, their discussions focused on ways to prevent and eradicate the Ebola pandemic. They underlined the importance of strengthened regional and international cooperation in order to effectively address this health threat and protect populations.
