Rechtsinformation (RIS)
The federal legal information system (RIS) serves primarily to publish the legal provisions to be published in the Federal Law Gazette and in the state law gazettes of the states.
It provides information about federal and state law and offers access to case law, government proposals and selected decrees from federal ministries.
In the “Pronouncements and Legal Information (RIS)” department, the legally binding Federal Law Gazette is published (“Federal Law Gazette authentic from 2004”) and the consolidated texts of the legal provisions announced in the Federal Law Gazette are created for the “Federal Law Consolidated” database. Furthermore, the databases listed under “Federal Law” in the RIS are maintained.

Das Rechtsinformationssystem des Bundes (RIS) dient vor allem der Kundmachung der im Bundesgesetzblatt und in den Landesgesetzblättern der Länder zu verlautbarenden Rechtsvorschriften. Es informiert über das Recht von Bund und Ländern und bietet einen Zugang zur Rechtsprechung, zu Regierungsvorlagen und ausgewählten Erlässen von Bundesministerien. Im Referat "Kundmachungen und Rechtsinformation (RIS)" wird das rechtlich verbindliche Bundesgesetzblatt herausgegeben ("Bundesgesetzblatt authentisch ab 2004") und die konsolidierten Texte der im Bundesgesetzblatt kundgemachten Rechtsvorschriften für die Datenbank "Bundesrecht konsolidiert" erstellt. Weiters werden die unter dem Punkt "Bundesrecht" im RIS angeführten Datenbanken betreut.
